Share everything you have—bishop told youth

Bangued Bishop Leopoldo Jaucian in his honily last Nov. 17 at the Miraculous Medal Shrine in Muntinlupa for the 4th day of the celebration of the National Youth Day shared that young people must share to others what they have.
Bishop Jaucian talked about the cross and the three aspects of the Eucharist which are Presence, Sacrifice and Mission.
The bishop explained the importance of the three aspects where patience is like the bread (referring to the host), “we are blessed, broken and shared”.
He shared his experience about presence when during a mass, there was a woman sticking her tongue out with the host still on it.
“The crowd was so noisy and I told them to calm down, only to see that the host was bubbling and had blood on it. And at that very moment, all the priests knelt down to acknowledge the prescence of the Lord”, Jaucian explained.
Second is ‘Sacrifice’ where he shared his experience when there was a time he had to go up the farthest mountain to share the good news of the Lord to the people there.
“We had to walk for ten painful hours. When we arrived there with all feet and body sore from the walking, the people from that village asked, “Bishop, pwede ka bang magmisa sa amin?” I agreed, seeing how they long for Jesus”, the bishop shared.
“The cross is the icon of supreme love. It tells us how to love God and others. It is the supreme sacrifice”, he then added.
Lastly, ‘Mission’, “The feeling is nice when we feel we are loved, but it is best when we share that love with others.”
He told the pilgrims to stand up and stretch their hands out, like how Jesus is on the cross, and he let them stay like that for a while.
“Nakakangalay diba? Doesn’t it hurt?, Jaucian asks.
He continued, “Just imagine how Jesus felt there on the cross, but now, place your right hand on the shoulder of the one beside you. Doen’t is hurt less?”.
“Love shared is doubled, a cross shared is lightened. Kaya 'wag mong solohin, ibahagi mo!” Jaucian said to the youth present. (Ira Yu/Jandel Posion)
