Cubao to host some National Youth Day delegates


 In line with the celebration of the CBCP Year of the Youth (YOTY), the Federation of National Youth Organization will be hosting the National Youth Day (NYD), one of the highlights for the said celebration that will take place in Metro Manila on Nov. 14-19.
NYD will be a gathering of youth from different ecclesiastical regions of the country as well as young people from various organizations and movements under FNYO.
According to the organizers of the National Youth Day, there will be seven Festival Sites within Metro Manila and one of which is Claret School of Quezon City in Diliman which is under the diocese of Cubao.

In the website of the Ministry for Youth Affairs of Cubao (mycubao.org), it is stated that through the endorsement of the bishop of Cubao, Most Rev. Honesto F. Ongtioco, DD, they had identified eleven parishes to host the delegates of the National Youth Day 2011.
The following are the identified parishes that will host some NYD delegates: (1) Our Lady of Pentecost Parish in Loyola Heights, (2) Sta. Maria dela Strada Parish in Katipunan, (3) Parish of Our Lord Divine of Mercy in Sikatuna, (4) Holy Family parish in Kamias, (5) St. Joseph Shrine in Aurora Blvd., (6) Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Diliman, (7) Holy Cross Parish in Krus na Ligas, (8) Our lady of Hope Parish in Brgy. Pag-asa, (9) Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish in 18th Ave., (10) Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Broadway, and (11) Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish in Lantana, Cubao.
An estimated 700 delegates from the Archdioceses of Caceres, Jaro, Ozamiz, and Manila, Dioceses of La Union, Tarlac, Daet, Dumaguete, Tandag, San Carlos, San Pablo, Baguio anf Dipolog, Prelature of Infanta, and youth organizations from Youth for Mary and Christ in Marikina, Cannosian Youth Movement, Chiro Youth Movement, Salesian Youth Movement—FMA, Salesian Youth Movement—SDB, Tarcisian Adorers, Christian Life Community and NYD Volunteers from FNYO.
The website also mentioned that the NYD2011 Secretariat conducted a briefing for the NYD2011 Parish Housing Coordinators last October 27 at the Obispado in Cubao diocese.
It added that there will be an orientation for foster families which is scheduled on Nov. 5 by the NYD2011 Festival Site Coordinator, Mr. PJ Blando at the Claret School in Diliman.
