The parish youth commissions of the vicariate of San Martin de Porres in Parañaque, together with the diocesan youth commission are holding a youth fest to culminate the celebration of the CBCP-Year of the Youth.
The youth festival, also called 3rd Resound event will be launch on December 10 at Mary Help of Christians Parish.
Diocesan youth coordinator Peter Pardo, explained than this year's resound is different from the previous ones.
“Primarily because this is the vicariate common celebration as we culminate the CBCP Year of the Youth. Also, highlighting the celebration, among others would be a Job Fair to cater to our young people especially from those who come from our developing communities, simultaneous formation also will be held in the morning to deepen the appreciation of the youth in the Liturgy after which will be a Pilgrim Walk to the Main Venue, which is at the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians. In the evening there will be presentations from the different parish youth commissions for the youth festival and will end the day with a praise and worship concert,” Pardo said.
“One of the significant efforts in this event also is we are working in collaboration with other commissions of the vicariate such as the commission on BEC, Liturgy and Popular Religiosity, and Social Services and Human Promotions. So it’s a combination of youth and adults for a common celebration for the year of the youth,” he added.
Pardo also mentioned that the youth event has been organized with the support of parish priests in the diocese especially the Vicar Forane of San Martin de Porres Vicariate, Fr. August Pulido.
Objectives of the youth fest, according to organizers are: to evangelize non-renewed catholic youth ages 13-40 through a day of formation, youth festival, exhortation, praise and worship; to provide an opportunity for collaboration among the six priority commissions of the vicariate; provide an opportunity for the youth to know Jesus through the Talk to be able to deepen the theme; have a common festive celebration on the closing of the CBCP Year of the Youth; and to launch in the vicariate, the series of formation programs and activities for the year 2012.
Target participants to the event are young people from the different parishes in the vicariate including campus ministries and trans-parochial groups.
Adopting the theme of the National Youth Day which is “Planted and Built Up in Jesus Christ, Firm in the Faith,” the event will start at 10:00 a.m. with simultaneous formation and ends before midnight. (Jandel Posion)
