Palo ends Year of the Youth through YouthFest


The Youth Commission of the Archdiocese of Palo will hold its Annual Archdiocesan YouthFest at the Tacloban City Convention Center on Dec. 17, Saturday, to culminate the celebration of the CBCP Year of the Youth.

Youth Commission director Fr. Manuel Baybay Jr., said the youthfest is an annual event but because the celebration of the year of the youth is ending by Dec. 16, they planned the youth gathering as a local celebration to culminate the CBCP-Year of the Youth.
Parish youth commissions in the Archdiocese, religious youth organizations, and students from Catholic Institutions, private and government owned in Tacloban City and nearby towns were among those invited to participate.
The youthfest will have talks, workshops and in the afternoon a festival of talents, awarding of the youth of the year and the rite of commitment in standing firm in the faith.
Fr. Cornelio Amante Jr., the Regional Youth Director of Central and Eastern Visayas Region has also been invited to attend the youthfest, according to Baybay.
An estimated 2000 participants are expected to attend the youth event that will start at 8 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m.
Archdiocesan administrator, Msgr. Jaime Villanueva will preside the Holy Mass.
Palo YouthFest is an annual event set every December and has become a tradition to the Youth Commission of the Archdiocese. (Jandel Posion)
