6,000 Dagupan Youth Choose to LIVE PURE!

PANGASINAN – Last November 21-25, 2011, the Live Pure Movement went to different towns of Pangasinan to conduct Live Pure Chastity Forums in the different Catholic schools of Lingayen-Dagupan as initiated by Archbishop Socrates B. Villegas, D.D. The Live Pure team who went to the schools was composed of RJ Moriones, Julius Eguia, Sabrina Gasgonia and Raine Eguico, full-time pastoral workers of the Live Pure Movement and CFC Youth for Family and Life (CFC YFL). The Superintendent of Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan Catholic Schools (ALDCS) Fr. Manuel S. Bravo, Jr. was the one who coordinated with the different school directors and the said team. Santo Tomas Catholic School was the host school on the first day, Binmaley Catholic School on the second, St. John’s Cathedral School on the third, St. Charles Academy on the fourth and Malasiqui Catholic School on the fifth and last day. Asked about how this Live Pure tour made an impact on him, Julius Eguia, a full-time pastoral worker of CFC Youth for Family and Life (CFC YFL) answered “…this mission made me even more convicted to live a chaste life, more fired up and eager to share the gift of chastity to my fellow young. ”’
There were about one thousand two hundred (1200) students that gathered in each Live Pure forum, totaling to about six thousand (6000) students for the whole week. Topics presented to them included human sexuality, love, relationships, sex and chastity that proved to be urgent and important, given the positive feedback and attentive response received from the school directors, teachers and the students themselves. The Live Pure Movement believes that it is crucial that these realities be discussed to the youth boldly, given the twisted influence that media bring to young people today.
Live Pure is an international Catholic movement directed at the youth. Its focus is for young people to look at Christ as their model of chastity and to live out purity in all the aspects of their lives.
