Cebu culminates Year of the Youth with a fun run


Days before the culmination of the CBCP Year of Youth on December 16, the Cebu’s Archdiocesan Commission on Youth will culminate it with a Fun Run for a Cause on December 11.

Organizers said the event highlights the nationwide culmination of the one-year celebration of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Year of the Youth celebrated from16 December 2010-16 December 2011.
“It also aims to intensify awareness about the youth and their importance to the life and activity of the Church,” they added.
In his endorsement letter, Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma said that the Fun Run for a Cause, dubbed as “YouthLinks Run” is an initiative of the Youth Commission of Cebu.
Archbishop Palma emphasized that the event also aims to raise funds for the completion of the Archdiocesan Center for Spirituality and Skills-Training.
Palma fervently hopes that people will welcome and support the endeavor of the youth commission’s officers and members who organized the activity.
The event has a registration fee of P300.00 (inclusive of singlet) and P75.00 (without singlet) for 3, 6 and 12 kilometer runs.
Registration areas are ParkMall Mandaue City, Patria de Cebu (COY office), Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, National Shrine of St. Joseph in Mandaue and YouthLinks office in Capitol Parish.
Assembly point for participants will be at ParkMall West Parking Area, Mandaue Reclamation Area Mandaue City at 4:00 a.m. The race will start at 5:00 a.m.
